What happens to a candy wrapper after the candy is gone?
In the hands of artist Daniel Scott Jr., it can become Spider-Man, Chewbacca, Boba Fett—or an entirely new piece of pop culture art!
Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop – Sioux Falls is excited to sponsor Daniel Scott Jr.’s appearance at SiouxperCon 2026, September 25–27 in Sioux Falls. SiouxperCon brings together fans of comics, movies, gaming, art, cosplay and pop culture, making Daniel an especially fun guest for Rocket Fizz to support.
Daniel creates his artwork entirely from candy wrappers, cutting and layering colorful pieces to create incredibly detailed portraits and mosaics. He began experimenting with candy and drink labels while studying art at Azusa Pacific University and has continued refining the technique for more than 30 years.
Take a closer look at his work and you’ll spot something familiar: pieces of Tootsie Pop, Tootsie Roll and other candy wrappers become colors, shadows, hair, costumes and backgrounds. The wrappers themselves remain recognizable, making it almost as much fun to examine the tiny details as it is to step back and see the finished image.
For us at Rocket Fizz, that’s what makes this sponsorship such a perfect fit. We usually think the fun is inside the candy wrapper. Daniel proves there can be plenty of fun left in the wrapper, too!
His work combines several things we love—candy, nostalgia, creativity and pop culture—and transforms something most of us would throw away into something completely unexpected.
Daniel will be among the featured guests at SiouxperCon 2026, and we’re proud to help bring his unique candy-wrapper art to Sioux Falls. He is also scheduled to participate in SiouxperCon’s “Create Your Own Superhero” panel.
Be sure to check out Daniel Scott Jr.’s work at SiouxperCon—and look closely. You may recognize a few wrappers from the candy aisles at Rocket Fizz!
And while you’re at SiouxperCon, be sure to stop by the Rocket Fizz booth! We’ll be bringing plenty of the fun along with us, including mystery bags, fun treats, sodas, squishy toys and more. You never know what you might discover!
We can’t wait for a fun-filled weekend celebrating candy, creativity and pop culture at SiouxperCon!
